THE JAMAICA BOBSLEIGH AND SKELETON FEDERATION (JBSF)
Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (JBSF) Ltd. is the governing body for the sport of bobsleigh and skeleton in Jamaica. It was first constituted in 1987 in preparation for the 1988 Olympic Games and is a member, in good standing, of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) and the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF). The Jamaica Bobsleigh Federation Ltd. is incorporated in Jamaica as a company limited by guarantee.
To create an administrative, training, competitive, and regulatory environment within which athletes of Jamaican descent can be developed into World and Olympic Champions for Jamaica.
The Federation also recognized the special place that Jamaica Bobsleigh has in international sport and as goodwill ambassadors for Jamaica. The Federation is therefore committed to activities that will enhance the team's preseence internationally while contributing to the growth of Brand Jamaica both locally and internationally.
To be one of the premiere organizations and competitive teams in the sport and in the process inspire others around the world to pursue the impossible dreams.
THE JAMAICA BOBSLED FOUNDATION (JBF)
The Jamaica Bobsled Foundation (JBF) is a New York-based not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in May 2014 and led by original Jamaican bobsled team member, Devon Harris.
The Foundation’s goal is to support the Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation’s mission to develop athletes to qualify for and compete in the sport of bobsledding and skeleton in the Winter Olympics for the country of Jamaica. The organization will organize fundraising events and solicit corporate sponsorships. The proceeds of such efforts will be used directly to pay for coaches and other experts as well as to cover training expenses, including but not limited to airfare, hotels, meals, clothing and equipment.
Devon Harris (https://www.devonharris.com/) serves as the Chairman of the Jamaica Bobsled Foundation. He is a member of the original Jamaican Bobsled Team and three-time Winter Olympian. He is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England and a retired Captain of the Jamaica Defence Force. He is currently a highly sought after Motivational Speaker, Workshop Facilitator and Author of the inspirational children's book, "Yes, I Can!" and the semi-autobiographical motivational book "Keep On Pushing: Hot Lessons From Cool Runnings."
Dudley "Tal" Stokes is an original member of the Jamaica Bobsled Team and a four-time Olympian. Tal is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in England and a retired Captain of the Jamaica Defense Force. He is an entrepreneur and has served as the president of the Jamaica Bobsleigh Federation in Jamaica for many years.
Nelson Christian (Chris) Stokes is a four-time Olympian and original member of the Jamaica Bobsled Team. He is the Founder and Executive Chairman NCS Enterprises, a group of companies focusing on money services, Diaspora driven micro-investing, Caribbean online education, and sports administration.
The Honorable Noel Courtney Spencer is the President of Spencer’s of Jamaica, Inc., providing financial services since 1987. Noel earned his MBA in International Finance from St. John’s University and his BBA in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Taxes from Pace University. He has served his community in many ways, including Orange County Legislator for many years; Town of Chester Councilman from 1998 to 2005, as well as a Founding board director and founding Chairman of the Loan Committee for The Community Bank of Orange (now Greater Hudson Bank).
